Hi,
I am Daniele Alan-Carter, an Italian born singer and actor based in London.
During the quarantine period, I found (and am still finding) myself struggling with the amount of time I have on my hands and the impossibility to work and perform live. There is anxiety around the uncertainty of an industry that has been deeply hit by the current crisis.
One day, while practising Yoga in my bedroom, I had an idea.
Throughout the years I have received lovely messages from both friends and strangers saying how listening to my voice helped them feel better and relaxed.
I never really knew how to take this (as I’m not great with compliments in general), but I suddenly realised: what if I create something that can help people, especially during this time, on an emotional level?
Something that is about them, their memories as children, their sensations and feelings?
To attempt to bring a sense of togetherness in this digital era of social distancing there needed to be that special something that connects us throughout history, something that appeals to all ages, and the answer was clear: Disney.
Disney movies and soundtracks have touched and still touch so many of today, people of all ages from all over the world. Disney has become the personification of where ‘dreams come true’, they accompany our childhood memories, the ones of our brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, our nephews and nieces, our aunties and uncles, our parents and grandparents. It doesn't matter how old we are today, many of us and our loved ones have been touched by some Disney magic.
I was inspired by ASMR and 8D music, that uses soft tones and specific directional sounds to trigger a sense of relaxation, and by the fascinating trend of speed painting, to create something unique to hopefully help you, to take you back in time, or, if you are new to these songs, to take you to a place where it makes no ‘difference who you are’ and where ‘all your dreams can come true’.
Each cover will have a different musician and instrument bringing a special touch to each song.
They will be available in three different versions: Italian, English and French and while listening you will be able to watch the process of the creation of a beautiful hand-drawn illustration.
I hope that you'll enjoy the work that we’ve done and I would love to hear from you and know what Disney songs you’d like us to work on next.
Every collaborator on this project has done it entirely for free, because they believe in this project. So if you feel you'd like to support us, I left at the bottom of this page two links where you'll be able to do so.
Now, enough from me...I want to introduce you to the people that have brought their own magic to this project.
